Be Nice Treat the Ice

Today marks the launch of “Be Nice Treat the Ice” a new City of Guelph pilot program, that provides residents with access to free de-icing material to keep residential sidewalks safe and clear of ice.
The pilot program is a result of a service review the City conducted last year on sidewalk winter control services.

Yesterday’s Storm as a Wrap-Up Earth Week Activities

I’d like to provide a brief update of Operation’s activities further to yesterday’s storm.
Operations staff were called out at 4:45pm and worked late using loaders to clear debris from roads, assess and make safe tree-related calls, while signal calls from Guelph Police Services were addressed by Traffic.

Snow Angels program launched

The Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington, in agreement with the City of Guelph, has launched a new pilot project to match volunteers with seniors and those with disabilities who cannot afford snow removal services.
The Snow Angels program is a service for Guelph residents who reside in a single dwelling or semidetached home with its own driveway. [...]

Winter storm update for Jan 28th

We have received approx. 12cm of new snow so far today with a couple of hours still to go before this system will be done with us. The Operations Department will initiate a full city plow out beginning at 6pm this evening. The completion of this activity will vary from 12 to 18 hours.
