Letter to editor re. Gerry Barker

I’ve gradually been losing my interest in Gerry Barker and his column. Wistfully, I remember years past, opening the Saturday Mercury and reading Gerry’s latest broadside against ‘fellow travellers’ and of his disdain for ‘the orange horde’. His anger was a mystery but his writing was entertaining.

I hope this will be approved and we can avoid a prolonged OMB hearing. We don’t need to hear from the same people about what a bully Wal-Mart is. If you don’t agree with Wal-Mart, don’t shop there. It’s that simple. But at least let us make up our own minds where to shop.
