Guelph Transit is adjusting Route 20 Northwest Industrial to maximize transit coverage.
“Employers and employees in the northwest industrial area along with transit operators have provided us with important feedback,” said Michael Anders. “Their comments and suggestions have helped us to adjust Route 20 accordingly.”
Beginning February 27, the bus stop network on Route 20 Northwest Industrial will be revised to reduce walking distance for passengers. Service will also be enhanced by adding two trips at 5:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. to the schedule, and adding service to Silvercreek Parkway North, between Curtis Drive and Willow Road.
New route information, schedules and updates are available online at guelphtransit.ca, at ServiceGuelph in City Hall and on-board Guelph Transit vehicles.
“We will continue to improve the service performance of the new transit routes and meet the needs of the community,” added Anders.
About Guelph’s Transit Growth Strategy
The vision for the Guelph’s Transit Growth Strategy is to make transit the preferred transportation choice over the single occupant vehicle for residents, employees and visitors to Guelph.
As part of the strategy Guelph Transit reviewed the city’s transit system and launched new routes and schedules on January 1.
Among other things the strategy includes recommendations for a five-year ridership growth plan and improvements to Mobility Services.
