snowfall update Feb 18, 2012

Just a quick note to update everyone on the status of our winter control activity this morning as everyone prepares for the Grand Opening celebration of the Market Square.

Snow accumulation this morning has maxed out at between 6 and 8 cm and does not warrant a city wide residential plow out (10cm).
All arterial, collector and bus route roads are being serviced. City
main sidewalk routes are currently being plowed. Residential
sidewalks will be assessed for the 8cm threshold before a decision is made to enter them.

All city facilities are also being tended to.

The downtown is receiving special concentration of forces in the Market Square area this morning to meet the opening timeline
and is reportedly in good shape with all parking lots cleared and salted as well.

An update will follow if situation changes in any way.
