Positive feedback!

I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon riding a bus around Guelph
participating in the Healthy Landscapes Tree tour, organized by Karen
McKeown and lead by Sean Fox from the University of Guelph Arboretum.

In addition to “meeting” some truly awesome Guelph trees – if you
haven’t seen the gigantic elm at the corner of London Road and Bagot
St., I urge you to do so – the notion that trees are important
component of a healthy urban landscape was clearly demonstrated.  I
congratulate Karen for integrating trees in to her education program.

There is obviously a desire on the part of Guelph citizens to know
more about Guelph’s trees and their role in our local ecosystem; our
bus was packed and apparently there was a waiting list.  Without a
doubt more tours of this nature would be in high demand.

I would like to thank council for their support of the Healthy
Landscapes program;  I hope that you will continue to support and give
consideration to expanding it in the future.   OA
