Guelph Public Library to promote conservation

Guelph residents who are concerned about energy conservation and environmental responsibility can now turn to the Guelph Public Library for help.
The Library has made an arrangement with Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc (GHESI) to promote and sell Earth Day Action Kits, provided by the utility.

City offers downtown-goers free parking

Beginning September 8th, parking is free for a maximum of two hours once per day, Monday through Saturday, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at on-street metered spots in the downtown core. The initiative is a one-year pilot, intended in part to draw more people into Guelph’s downtown core.

Termites - New infestation

Unfortunately Building Services staff were advised yesterday of a possible infestation of termites outside of the existing two areas.
Dr. Myles visited a property on Emma Street, between Metcalfe St. and Stevenson St. yesterday and confirmed a structural infestation in the main dwelling that in his opinion may have been in existence for 5 years.
